ZebraML

Scalable, Unbiased, and Reproducible Analysis of Preclinical Animal Trials

In the current stage of preclinical drug development, researchers encounter significant challenges in analyzing animal movement data effectively. Traditional methods depend on manual observations and basic statistical analyses, which are time-consuming, prone to human error and bias, and often fail to detect subtle yet meaningful changes in behavior. The increasing volume and complexity of data from various model organisms and experimental setups make it difficult to scale analyses and ensure reproducibility. These limitations impede the accurate comparison of drug properties based on animal behavior, slowing down the research process and potentially delaying the development of effective therapeutics.

We have developed an AI model that processes your preclinical experimental data. ZebraML extracts and generalizes animal movement patterns, enabling comprehensive comparisons of drug properties based on behavioral changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What model organisms do you analyze?

We have experience with mice, rats, and zebrafish, and can work with other model organisms as well.

What arenas do you support?

We support multiple configurations, including rectangular arenas, lens-shaped fish tanks, plus mazes, and tail suspension tests.

How is your method different from trained observers?

ZebraML offers scalability and is not limited by data volume. Our AI works faster, provides unbiased results, and ensures reproducibility.

How is your method different from statistical analysis?

We track animal movement patterns on a minute scale and generalize them using advanced AI algorithms, going beyond traditional statistical methods.

How many animals do you need?

The number depends on your experiment. Typically, 20 or more animals per group are sufficient, along with an equal number of control animals observed in parallel.

Can you conduct an experiment for me?

Conducting animal experiments is beyond the scope of our services. We specialize in data processing but can assist you in designing the experimental setup.

What data do you need?

We work with outputs from standard animal tracking software, such as Noldus products. Essentially, we can process any data that exports animal coordinates in a .csv format.

What results will you provide?

After processing your data, we will send you a comprehensive report with our analysis. For examples of our findings, please refer to the papers listed below.
